All Drivers doing School Groups must be aware of the following at all times
1. Each Driver shall be given a list of the Group children they are to pick up. This shall include the following information: Group child's Name, Pick up Address, School the Group child goes to and the pick up time. No other Person is allowed to travel with the Group child unless they are authorised and on the list.
2. This list may be altered only by instructions from the Group Supervisor through the Communications Network; under no circumstances may a Driver make a change to the particulars on the list unless authorised by the Group Supervisor.
3. Any change being requested by a Parent or Guardian must be directed to the School. The Group child is dropped at the address shown on the drop sheet and must NOT be dropped or picked up from any other address.
4. Child must be delivered to a responsible teacher on arrival at school and child must be delivered to a responsible adult at the destination address.
5. No Driver shall transport any Group child listed in a Group in any other type of vehicle other than a Taxi.
6. Drivers shall make sure that the Group child is seated and correctly placed in the restraining device (seat belt) and that their limbs are unable to protrude outside the window or door of the Taxi.
7. Childproof locks on the doors must be locked.
8. Pick up times must always be regular at the first pick up address. If the route results in the drop off time being late at the School, the Driver will alter the first pick up time to ensure arrival at the School is at the correct time and advise the Group Supervisor.
9. Drivers are not to drop off at the School prior to the time approved by the Head Teacher at the School and / or Group Supervisor.
10. All Group children shall be picked up or dropped off at the kerbside of their premises and at the Schools designated drop off / pick up area. Also no Group child shall be taken out of the vehicle other than next to the kerb.
11. All School bags and other luggage shall be placed in the boot area of the Taxi.
12. Drivers shall not wait longer than 5 minutes at the Group child's home address. Driver must notify Groups before continuing on to their next pick up. Group children are not to be in any Taxi longer than 1 Hour & 15 Minutes.
13. If a Driver forgets to pick up a Group child on the list, they shall reimburse Black & White Cabs for any other Taxis sent to pick up that Group Person.
14. Where another Taxi is substituted for the Taxi normally allocated to a Group the Driver must notify the Group Supervisor of the substitution.
15. Should a Driver not be able to do the Group allocated to them, the Driver must notify the Group Supervisor at the earliest possible time and before the Group is due to be picked up.
16. Drivers shall at all times have their Communications Equipment logged on during the Group Run.
17. Group children must not be left unattended in the Taxi with or without the motor running, at their home or at the School. If no one is available to take custody of the Group child at the home address, the Driver must contact the Groups Supervisor immediately and the Supervisor shall take the appropriate action, which the Driver must follow.
18. Drivers must not refuel in the middle of their Group run and under no circumstances are to stop and purchase food, sweets, drinks etc for Group children. (These children could be on medication).
19. Drivers must adhere to the Code of Customer Service set by Queensland Transport.
20. Drivers must notify the Group Supervisor of any absentees from their Group. No Driver may claim for a Group child not carried.
21. Drivers must assist as required.
22. Drivers must be aware of Sexual Harassment and Discrimination Laws (See separate notes and guidelines on this topic).
23. If relief driver is put into car, Groups need to be notified and driver needs to attend Black & White cabs headquarters to receive and sign for Rules of Operation and Sexual Harassment and Human Rights Guidelines.
24. Rules of Operation and Sexual Harassment and Human Rights Guidelines need to be kept in glove box of car.
25. Drivers are to report any problems of misbehavior, Group children being sick etc in the Taxi immediately to the Group Supervisor.
26. Tennyson Group children must always travel alone - NO EXCEPTIONS
