Mar/Apr 2006 - Security Camera Update The Security Camera Installation program is now well underway with about four hundred cameras having been installed in the Brisbane fleet.  Operators and drivers of cabs that have not been installed should contact Taxicom - formerly known as Johnson Communications – to book their cab in for the install. Taxicom is located in Hutcheson Street (opposite Delta Taxis) and their telephone number is 3262 3833. Camera Downloads Even with still yet low numbers of cabs with cameras installed there have been a number of downloads completed that has lead to several arrests.  Incidents captured by the cameras have included driver assault, fare evasion and theft of driver’s property. Drivers should be aware that after activation of the camera, they can have images downloaded at some Police Stations, Black & White Cabs at the Airport or our Southside Headquarters at BWTM in Coopers Plains.  Selected Black & White Cabs staff have been trained to complete the download procedure to ensure integrity of the process.  This facility is only available during office hours but the technical capability of the cameras enables the data to be stored safely until the download has been completed on the next business working day.
