How do I find / report lost property?

If you have lost property in a Black & White Cab, please use the following contacts:

The Brisbane Lost Property office is open 08:30 to 16:30, 7 days a week. During these hours, please contact us on (07) 3860 1807.
After Hours
If the item was lost within the last 30 minutes, please contact our Customer Service Centre on 133 222. Please be advised that if it has been longer than 30 minutes, a Lost Property Form will need to be submitted. Alternatively, please contact the lost property office the following morning (details above).
TOOWOOMBA
The Toowoomba office is open 08:30 to 16:30, Monday to Friday. During these hours, please contact us on (07) 4635 7250.

Wheelchair Accessible MAXI

Black & White Cabs currently has a fleet of over 150 Wheelchair Accessible Maxi. The Operators and drivers of our Wheelchair Accessible Maxi fleet have undergone extensive training to ensure we deliver a timely and safe mode of transport for passengers who depend upon the use of a wheelchair for mobility outside their home.

Black & White Cabs utilises considerable Call Centre resources for the management of our Wheelchair Acessible Maxi service. This includes the close monitoring of each and every Wheelchair Accessible booking to deliver service levels that meet or exceed the customer’s expectation as well as the legislative requirements contained in our Taxi Service Contract with Transport and Main Roads. The delivery of required service levels is a key component of the company Quality Assurance Program.
QUEENSLAND GOVERNMENT TRANSPORT SUBSIDY SCHEME

Passengers who rely upon the use of a wheelchair for mobility outside their home are encouraged to identify if they are entitled to be included in the Queensland Government Transport Subsidy Scheme

Important Information For Wheelchair Passengers

The following information has been compiled from the Department of Transport and Main Roads

Your wheelchair or scooter must have a maximum width of 750mm, a maximum height of 300mm from the ground, be able to fit through a taxi door height of 1400mm and into an allocated space of 1300mm by 800mm. The combined weight of the mobility aid and operator can be no more than 300kg.

The Department of Transport and Main Roads Wheelchair Accessible Taxi policy states that at a minimum lap-sash belt must be fitted for each seating position. Wheelchairs and their occupants must be secured facing forwards. Provision must be made for the rapid release of both the wheelchair and occupant restraint in the case of an accident or emergency.

Under the Australian road rules, if a passenger (over 16 years of age) occupies a seating position fitted with a seatbelt, the passenger must wear the seatbelt properly adjusted and fastened, unless the passenger is exempt from wearing a seatbelt. An exempt person must carry a medical certificate stating that the person is not required to wear a seatbelt and is complying with the conditions of the certificate.

Travelling with your Wheelchair or Mobility Scooter – Public Transport and Registration Requirements
SCOOTERS

The Department of Transport and Main Roads policy on the carriage of scooters and mobility aids in Wheelchair Accessible Taxis states that it is unsafe for a person to travel in a taxi while seated on a mobility scooter. This is because the scooter user, the Driver and any other passengers in the taxi may be at risk should an accident occur. The policy states that a passenger must transfer from the scooter to a fixed seat in the vehicle.

What type of payment is accepted in a Black & White cab?

As well as cash, Black & White Cabs offers EFTPOS/Credit Card facilities in all of our cabs. We are a member of the international Cabcharge network and Corporate Accounts are available, along with Pre-paid Travel Vouchers. Paying by credit card through the Cabcharge payment system attracts a 10% surcharge.

Is there an additional cost for MAXI cabs?

QUEENSLAND – The cost of a specifically ordered Maxi Cab vehicle (five or more passengers) is the standard taxi metered rate plus a $12 surcharge. The surcharge does not apply if a Wheelchair Accessible Taxi is ordered, if a high occupancy vehicle is not specifically requested when ordering, or when the vehicle is hailed or hired from a rank.

PERTH– The cost of a specifically ordered Maxi Cab vehicle (five or more passengers) is calculated on Tariff 3 this applies whenever five or more passengers are carried (only applies to vehicles manufactured to carry six or more adult passengers).

How do I order a business class cab? (Brisbane & Redcliffe only)

With a designated Business Class Call Centre in Brisbane call (07) 3860 9999 to order a Business Class Cab in the Brisbane or Redcliffe area.

A $12 surcharge applies on top of the standard metered taxi fare for a specifically ordered Business Class cab. The surcharge does not apply if Business Class is not specifically requested when booking, or when the vehicle is hailed or hired from a rank.
